Tenor Mantra

Thirty tongues cut from a single piece of steel vibrate to produce sound.

The design concept was inspired by the Kármán vortex street in Jupiter's atmosphere and an aerial photograph of Sasakura Marshland. The flow and repetition common to these two scenes were translated into the steel structure.

This cut is not merely for aesthetics. It is a structure designed to accommodate 30 chromatic notes from C4 to F6 in a single slit drum. It achieves a wide tonal range and a key arrangement based on the circle of fifths within a limited area.

Sound of the Normal Type

It suppresses the metallic sound included in the attack and the resonance of adjacent keys. It produces a rich yet pleasant tone that blends well with a wide range of genres.

Playing and Miking

• Microphone: It has a built-in passive piezo microphone. Small condenser microphones and lavalier microphones can also be used through the sound hole on the bottom.
• Dedicated Mallet: It can express everything from soft strikes to plucking-like attacks. It also supports ghost notes and bowing.
• Pierce Damper: It naturally shortens sustain without significantly altering the timbre.
